Using the
TRAINERIZE APP
Your Training Plan
If you’ve opted for an online or virtual training plan, we’ll be using the Trainerize app to manage your progress. You’ll get an invitation to set up your account on the app in your email once you purchase your training plan.
The Trainerize app is helpful for tracking your workouts and other activities.
Every day you’ll get a notification of what your assigned activities and workouts are. You’ll also find videos demonstrating your assigned exercises.
As you complete your workouts, you can record your “training stats” in the app (what weights you used, how much time you spent, what distance you covered, etc). I’ll be automatically notified each time you complete one of your assigned tasks.
You can also send messages to me within the app or leave notes on your workouts. I check my messages every day, and usually can get back to you within 24 hours.
Getting Started
Check your email for an invitation to set up your account on the Trainerize app. From here, you’ll set up your profile by entering basic information and your initial health stats.
After you set up your profile, you’ll be automatically placed into a Pre-Training program. Before I can add your individualized plan, you’ll need to make sure to submit three very important forms: the waiver, the medical history questionnaire, and the Pre-Training Fitness & Wellness Questionnaire.

You’ll also need to sign up for your General Assessment before I can add your plan. During the General Assessment, we’ll sit down and talk (either in person or on the phone) about your goals to create a plan for moving forward.
You can schedule your General Assessment by going to my calendar page (the link is in your training plan).
Navigating your Training Plan
Once you’re all set up with your Trainerize account and have completed all the steps towards getting your Training Plan, I’ll create a plan for you including the workouts and nutritional guidance that you need.
All training programs begin within one week following your General Assessment--so if you don't see your workouts yet don't worry! They're on their way :)

Get an Overview of Your Plan
Whenever you log into the Trainerize app on your phone, you’ll see your “Dash” page first. This page gives you a summary and overview of your progress throughout the program.
Notice that along the bottom edge of the screen, there are 5 sections to select from. The first (“Dash”) will take you to the current screen, which gives you a bird’s eye view of your plan.
The second button along the bottom labeled “Plans” will take you to your Plan summary page, where you can track your Goals, Meal Plan, and Training Plan.
You can also access your Calendar by clicking on the central button labeled “Calendar” to see when your workouts are due.

Completing Your Workouts

To begin a workout, click on the name of the workout from either the “Plan” or “Calendar” section of the app.
Click on the workout you would like to complete, and select "Start Now."
As you complete your workout, make sure to enter your stats for each exercise—including how much weight you used and how many repetitions you completed for each set.
Once you have completed the workout, click on “Save” at the top of the screen to record your workout progress and rate the overall difficulty of the workout and select “Done” when you are finished.
If you are unsure about an exercise while doing one of your workouts, you can click on the image next to the exercise name and watch a video tutorial for the exercise and read more about how to perform it.
The importance of tracking
It’s important to track your workouts because fitness progress happens very slowly on a week by week, month by month basis.
If you’re working towards weight loss, you may not see the scale move in the first couple of months of your training—although you’ll likely experience other changes such as higher energy levels, reduced stress, looser-fitting clothing, and increased strength. It’s important to pay attention to these changes and focus on them while we work towards the bigger goals. Remember that it takes a long time to change your body composition. However the short term benefits of getting into shape are something we can see week by week. So make sure to track everything in the app!
