Join the Discord Community!

Improving your health and fitness can be a challenging journey if you try to do it alone. 

However when you surround yourself with like-minded individuals who share your health and fitness goals, you'll find that staying motivated becomes much easier! 

I encourage all of my clients to plug into a community to help them stay accountable and encouraged. That’s why I’ve created my Coaching Corner Discord server. This free online space allows you to connect with me and others who are on a fitness journey. 

About the Coaching Corner Discord

My Coaching Corner Discord server is a place to connect with me and my community, get inspiration, ask questions, and share your progress.

Discord is a text, voice, and video chat app that people use to talk and hang out with their communities and friends. There are individual Discord servers for a wide variety of topics (including art projects, family gatherings, video games, and more). 

My Discord server is dedicated to people seeking to improve their lives through fitness by eating better, losing weight, and building muscle. 

One thing that I love about Discord is that it allows you to remain anonymous by using a screen name. This allows you to safeguard your privacy and only share what you’re comfortable with. You don’t even have to share pictures of yourself–unlike other social media apps that make your photos and personal information easy to find. 

I’ve split the server into several categories and channels to keep the discussions organized.

How to Use the Coaching Corner Server

Information

You can find important information about the server, its rules, disclaimers, and announcements in the Information category. Before you can send a message in the server, you’ll need to agree to the server rules after you join.

Public Channels

The public channels are viewable to all people who join the Discord: 

  • The #👋-introduce-yourself channel is for introducing yourself to the community and sharing your goals and any social links

  • The #💬-public-chat channel is for connecting and chatting with me and the community 

  • The #❓-fit-q-a channel is for asking questions to the community about anything related to fitness. I usually answer these when I’m live on Twitch and then repost the responses to my Youtube channel.

  • You can share your progress pics, videos, and body stats in the #📒-progress-tracking channel 

  • Celebrate completing each workout by snapping a selfie at the end and posting it in the #💪-sweaty-selfies channel

  • Share and view silly gym memes and jokes in the #😹-gym-memes channel

  • Share your healthy meal prep, snacks, and recipes in the #🥦-healthy-plates channel

  • We love cute animals! Share your pet pictures and videos in the #🐈-pets-gains channel

Challenges

There are also periodic challenges to help you stay engaged and motivated by competing with other members of the community. In the last year, we’ve done a “Eat Your Damn Veggies” challenge as well as some walking and steps challenges.

Private Channels

Some of the channels are private and only viewable by my clients, Trainerize subscribers, and Twitch subscribers. These channels include access to guides, resources, recipes, and more personalized attention from me.

Subs

The ⭐ Subs channels are viewable to my personal training clients, Trainerize subscribers, and all Twitch subscribers. These include:

  • A sub-only #⭐-subs-chat channel 

  • The #🏋️-technique-review channel for sharing video of your exercises to be reviewed by me and others in the community (I review these on stream on Tuesdays)

  • I share recipes exclusive to my subs and clients in the #🥘-recipes channel (you can share recipes here too!)

  • You can find resources like training plan templates, guides, and other resources I create in the #📖-resources channel

🌟Super Subs

This exclusive category is viewable only to my personal training clients, Trainerize subscribers, and Tier 3 Twitch subscribers:

  • On every 4th Sunday of the month, I do a group call in the Coaching Call stage channel at 7:30pm EST. Here you can join to watch a private live stream focused on answering fitness questions and coaching tips. During the live stream, you can chat and ask questions in the #📞-coaching-call-chat channel.

  • If you would like to share your daily and weekly reflections with the community, post them in the #💭-reflections channel

  • Connect any time with me, my other clients, Trainerize subscribers, and Tier 3 Twitch subs in the #🌟-super-sub-chat channel

Server Notifications

All members of the Discord get announcements whenever I go live on Twitch for my Fit Q&A streams, post a new video on my Youtube channel, post to my blog, or offer new products and services on my website. 

You can turn notifications on and off for individual channels in the server by right clicking on a channel name, selecting “Notification Settings,” and selecting from the options:

To turn notifications on and off for the entire server and to also edit push notifications for your mobile device, right click on the server icon and name, select “Notification Settings,” and choose from the options:
